โรงเรียนวาปีปทุม จัดพิธีถวายบังคมพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ เพื่อทิดพระเกียรติและรำลึกถึงพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ รัชกาลที่ ๖ ในวันที่ ๒๒ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๑
ได้มอบใบประกาศเกียรติคุณ นักเรียนโรงเรียนวาปีปทุม ระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4/8 นางสาวสิริยากร สังเจิด บิดาชื่อ กฤตภัค สังเจิด มารดาชื่อ นางสโรชา ลอมไธสงค์ เนื่องจากเก็บเงินได้บริเวณถนนข้างโรงเรียนเมื่อตอนค่ำของวันที่ 21 พฤศจิกายน 2561 จำนวน 130,000 บาทเศษ เป็นของ นายอุบล ศรวิเศษ ผู้ใหญ่บ้านหมู่ที่ 15 ต.ดงใหญ่ อ.วาปีปทุม จ.มหาสารคาม ได้ส่งคืนเจ้าของเงินเรียบร้อยแล้ว ได้รับเงินตอบแทนทุนการศึกษา 3,000 บาท เป็นแบบอย่างแห่งการประกอบคุณงามความดี
